Columbia University Graduate in Financial Engineering

MSFE

Korrie is a Columbia graduate with a Master's degree in Financial Engineering. Raised in Staten Island, New York, to an Israeli-American family, she developed a passion for mathematics early in life, driven by a fascination with problem-solving. As she explored potential career paths, Korrie discovered her enthusiasm for quantitative analysis, paving the way for her pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Financial Mathematics.

With a strong foundation in quantitative finance, Korrie embarked on a career as a Quantitative Modeler at Radian Group. Her role involved managing Python code for mortgage insurance pricing, optimizing returns, and contributing to the profitability of financial models.

During her time at Columbia University, Korrie engaged in impactful projects, including Asset Allocation, Predicting Housing Price Index (HPI) for JP Morgan Asset Management, and pricing exotic options through Monte Carlo simulation.

Korrie also interned as a Quantitative Trading Summer Analyst at UBS, where she successfully completed various projects. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C++, and R, she applied her technical skills in implementing quantitative strategies to price exotic options and enhance trading processes.

Driven by a desire to bridge the gender gap in engineering, particularly in programming and quantitative finance, Korrie aspires to motivate and empower women to pursue careers in these fields. Her journey from a passionate math enthusiast to a skilled financial engineer exemplifies her commitment to breaking barriers and inspiring the next generation of women in technology and finance.

Advice I'd tell my younger self: Always believe in yourself, even in the face of setbacks. If there's something you're passionate about learning, never tell yourself you can't – instead, let that give you more motivation to learn it.
