Dr. Sara Werb

Dr. Sara was born and raised in Toronto, and is still afraid of going to see a dentist herself! She completed an Honour's Bachelors in Science at the University of Toronto. She then went on to get her Master's in Education from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. While Dr. Sara loved teaching, she jumped at the opportunity to attend Dental School and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto in the hopes it would help her get over her fears. It is that love of teaching and working with children that led her to complete a pediatric dental residency at Jacobi Medical Centre. There Dr. Sara received extensive training in various behaviour management techniques along with training in the treatment of special needs patients, pediatric medicine rotation, pediatric emergency room, and anesthesia.

 

Upon completing her residency she moved back to Toronto to work at various dental offices, while building her own practice WERBDentistry. Dr. Sara also has served on staff at Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilition Hospital, and as a clinical instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry in Toronto. She has lectured at various dental conferences, volunteered with the Ontario Dental Association, and frequently visits classrooms and daycares to teach oral health.

 

These experiences, her fear of dental treatment, and a drive offer the most researched and best techniques has led her to focus on developing a personalized approach to treating her patients and their families! She wants to make sure that children grow up without feeling the anxiety she experienced. Dr. Sara is excited to bring this personalized approach to Toronto Children's Dentistry and the Altima Family.

 

Outside dentistry, Dr. Sara takes ballet classes, travels and experiments with cooking new recipes. You can often find her hiking with her dog Livi.
